Tameside Primary Academy Expands Outdoor Learning with New Forest School Site

Tameside Primary Academy is thrilled to announce the opening of its second forest school site on academy grounds, marking a significant expansion of its commitment to outdoor learning and environmental education. This new addition ensures that pupils have even greater opportunities to immerse themselves in nature and develop vital skills outside the traditional classroom setting.

The new forest school site builds on the academy’s success in providing innovative outdoor learning experiences that inspire creativity, resilience, and a sense of wonder in young learners. Designed to complement the existing forest school, this second site offers enhanced spaces for exploration, teamwork, and hands-on learning.

Mitchell Hill, Principal at Tameside Primary Academy, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to open a second forest school site here at Tameside.”

“Outdoor learning has always been a cornerstone of our educational philosophy, and this expansion allows us to provide even more opportunities for our pupils to learn, grow, and thrive in a natural environment. It’s about nurturing their curiosity and fostering skills that will serve them throughout their lives. We can’t wait to see our pupils making memories and discoveries in this new space.”

The Forest School at Tameside incorporates a wide range of activities, from building shelters and identifying plants to team challenges and creative projects inspired by nature. These experiences not only support the national curriculum but also promote physical and mental well-being.
